Guy Montgomery (Recommended 16+)

Event Details

Guy Montgomery brings his brand-new stand-up show, What Do People Do All Day?, to Adelaide Entertainment Centre’s Theatre in July 2027, turning his trademark wit and offbeat observations to one of life’s biggest questions: what exactly do people do all day?

In the words of Guy, “Not since Richard Scarry in 1968 has anyone been brave enough to try to answer the unanswerable: What do people do all day? If you’ve ever been in or out of your house, you will appreciate this is a hefty prospect to consider. Take me for example. I’ve been alive literally for as long as I can remember and I still couldn’t tell you what I get up to on a day-to-day basis. I know I wake up and I know I go to sleep but the middle bit? That’s what we’ll be exploring. And it won’t just be my days either. As an ally, I am aware that hundreds, even thousands of other people are also having their own days, every single day. So you’ve got to imagine I’ll be getting into that a little bit too.”

Guy has become a major presence in Australia as creator and host of the hit show Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont-Spelling Bee, reveling in the chaos over three series on ABC TV and playing live shows to sold-out audiences in Australia, New Zealand and London.

Guy has won multiple awards across comedy and TV in New Zealand and Australia since 2014, and has had sold-out runs in New York, Los Angeles, the Just For Laughs festivals in Montreal, Toronto and Sydney, the Edinburgh Fringe and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

He has also toured his upsettingly successful podcast ‘The Worst Idea of All Time’ across Australia, America and the UK.

Guy is known to Australian TV audiences from his regular appearances on Have You Been Paying Attention?, Thank God You’re Here, as well as the annual MICF Oxfam Gala and hosting the Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
